Homemade Holiday Gifts

There is something about making gifts that is just fun. So whether you are on a budget or just really crafty here are a few ideas for gifts that anyone girly would love!

  1. Body Scrubs. They are so easy to make and not that expensive! Get some small mason jars, coconut oil, granulated sugar or brown sugar. Those two ingredients are the base to any great scrub. I add coffee grounds to the one I make for myself but you can really do anything. The options are endless for the scents you could create!               Screen Shot 2017-09-14 at 12.59.26 PM(Pic from pinterest)
  2. Baked treats!- Whether it be cookies, candies or pies baking is fun and gives the ultimate form of love. I don’t know many people who don’t love a sweet bite of something delicious.

  3. Scarves/hats/blankets- If you know how to knit or sew making things someone can use or wear is always fun. I made lots of burp cloths, paci clips, and bibs for my son and niece so for people with babies these types of things are nice. I can’t knit but i’m sure I could make a blanket!

  4. Lotion- My mom makes a really great lotion that is perfect for dry skin or pregnant bellies. And we have used this recipe and jarred it as gifts at my baby shower. You simply mix baby lotion, vitamin e cream, vaseline and any essential oils you want. If you look back on my old post about diy stretchmark remover you can find a recipe that is amazing!!

Alright Lovelies! That is all for today. Starting off Blogmas in full swing. If you have any ideas of things you want to know or want to see or read let me know in the comments and please come say hi over on instagram or twitter!!

An Autumn Tag

Hello friends!! Hope you had an amazing weekend and have been having a great weekend. My husband and I hosted a little gathering at our house and I cooked a bunch of snacks and we had a fire pit with some friends over. It was a good time. I think next weekend I will be having a little celebration for myself and go out to dinner with the family because as of Halloween, I will be a graduate from Grad school!!!

Any ways I got this tag from a twitter friend and fellow blogger so definitely check her out : HERE (:

1. The smell of pumpkin guts or rotting leaves?

HAHA Umm I am really not sure, I guess leaves because pumpkin smells best when it is sweet and baked lol

2. Sweat or salty pumpkin seeds?

Definitely have to go with Salty!

3. Store bought or pumpkin patch pumpkins?

Pumpkin patches are just fun and pretty. Being someone who has grown up around farms it is definitely the way to go. Pumpkin Patches all the way

4. Wool or knit sweater?

I guess I would have to go with knit. There aren’t a lot of wool sweaters where I am from and it is way to hot for wool where I live.

5. Halloween party or explore haunted places?

This is so hard to choose!!! I love scary and haunted stuff but I also love dressing up and doing the scaring so I really can’t decide. BOTH!!!

6. Apple pie or pumpkin pie?

I personally am not a big apple person so it would definitely be Pumpkin pie for me with extra whipped cream!!!

7. Still silent nights or rainy windblown nights?

Well where I live anytime we have storms our power goes out so I will take a still silent night… with the tv on lol

8. Witches or ghosts?

Definitely ghosts. I mean there are people who have the ability to talk to the dead right??

9. Raking leaves or climbing trees?

Climbing trees! Who in their right mind would pick a chore lol

10. Ouija boards or ghost stories around a campfire?

Ghost stories. I am not about to piss off the dead messing with a quija board. plus campfires mean hotdogs and s’mores!         Screen Shot 2017-10-30 at 12.16.04 PM

11. October or November?

October! Like I said I love halloween and all the creepy, scary stuff!

12. Black cats or owls?

CATS! I am a total cat lady. Owls are cool and pretty but I am all about some kitty cats!

13. Fireplace or candle light?

Hmmm I like both.. If I had to pick one I suppose I would pick a fire place only if it was electric because I don’t want my whole house smelling like a camp fire. Otherwise I would pick candles.

14. Monster movies or classic novels?

Monster movies because I rarely have time to finish a movie let alone a book. Plus my husband is not into reading so we spend time together finding movies and watching.

15. Carve or paint pumpkins?

I have literally never painted a pumpkin so I would have to go with carving pumpkins. Its so classic and fun and the best part is ripping the guts out! hahaScreen Shot 2017-10-30 at 12.15.06 PM

My Son is Turning ONE!!

Hello everyone!! I hope your October is going so well! I can’t believe that I have done so well with posting every day so far! haha So today marks the one month mark to my son’s first birthday and as most moms I am so excited!!! I have been planning this birthday party for a while now but everything is closing in on the big day. I wanted to share some of my ideas and party planning tips.

DECOR: I am doing a Dr. Suess themed birthday. I found some decor at Target that I can use to label food in cute Suess ways. I picked up some fabric at Hobby Lobby to create a “banner” to go around his high chair. At the dollar tree I picked up blue and red table cloths and blue, red, and white poster board. I cut up the poster board to create a banner that will display his month by month baby pictures.

FOOD: We are doing a BBQ and grilling lots of yummy foods. I am going to be doing lots of Dr. Suess themed sides, snack, sweets, and drinks.

  • Pink Yink Ink Drink- pink lemonade
  • New Blue Goo- blue punch
  • 1 fish 2 fish red fish blue fish- colored gold fish in a fish bowl
  • poodles with noodles- pasta salad
  • green eggs and ham- pretzels with white chocolate and green candies
  • Dr. Suess Soup- homemade chex mix/ trail mix
  • Truffala Fruits- fruit tray

There are so many ideas that you could do, these are just some that I am doing. I am also making a smash cake and cupcakes. I also ordered a party pack that includes plates, napkins, cups, cutlery, and a table cloth all in my theme.

I consider myself crafty so I am doing my best to make and craft everything that I can instead of buying a lot of the things. I have lots of ideas and I have been working away to make this a great party!

(all photos are courtesy of pinterest, i take no credit but hope to recreate some of these and do them justice. After Baby K’s birthday I will add my own pictures and share how the party went!!)

Friday the 13Th

Day 13 of Blogtober and it’s friday the 13th! Being the halloween freak that I am, I’m going to have a quick, short post for yall.

This is my necromorph I created. Don’t ask me what a necromorph is because it is a mystery. It is just a weird creature. I used liquid latex paste and aluminum foil to create the jaw piece and used ellimorph plastic to create the teeth and just painted everything including my face. I also added lots of hair serum to my hair to make it greasy and gross.

I’ve been trying to go out of my box and work on different looks. I don’t love how this turned out but still thought it was cool.

Halloween Look #1

This will be a quick little post friends but I wanted to share some of the halloween looks I have done. This is one of my favorite looks I have ever done. Me and my husband dressed as a Voodoo Doll and a witch doctor. The look took me many hours to put together and about an hour to apply. I could see but not very well, which meant no driving for me and drinking was difficult. I had to use a straw and eating was not possible. But I had a blast scaring people and everyone wanted to take pictures which is always fun for me!

It took lots of liquid latex, masking tape, hemp string and fake blood.

Over all was such a fun night and costume. I loved it!!!

Movies You Must Watch By Halloween

Hello Friends! If you know me at all you know I am in full Halloween swing. I have been working on lots of looks for the 31 days of halloween and in prep for that I have been trying to watch as many scary, thriller, horror films as possible! Here is my list of must see movies.

  1. Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 8.53.22 AM Classic slasher movie. Watch the original before the Rob Zombie remake. Both are good!
  2. Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 8.56.56 AM Nightmare on Elm Street is a must see classic. What is freakier than this creep tying you up and literally cutting you up??
  3. Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 8.58.55 AM Okay so I haven’t seen the first Scream yet… I know but is definitely on the list and I have to watch it before Halloween.. So should you!!
  4. Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 9.01.13 AM The Shinning is not super scary but is a thriller. If you haven’t seen it you definitely need to watch Jack Nicholson lose his mind!
  5. Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 9.06.38 AM The Exorcist is definitely a favorite of mine. Exorcism movies of all kinds actually. They are freaking and so captivating.

Okay I will be adding more to the list the closer we get to Halloween! What are your must watch halloween movies?? Let me know in the comments so I can see more. Me and my husband love scary movies!!

DIY Stretchmark Remover: Final Thoughts

Okay I gave the homemade stretch mark remover a fair try and here are my final thoughts. If you are new and aren’t sure what I am talking about I will leave the link to my original post HERE.

Overall the cream I made helped but didn’t remove the marks 100%. It made an amazing, yummy chocolate smelling moisturizer. It really deeply moisturized without leaving my skin feeling sticky or tacky. It did smooth out my skin and make the stretch marks less deep but it wasn’t perfect. But realistically I didn’t expect something to be perfect in just 45 days. IMG_1296

As always loves if you have some crazy DIY’s let me know so I can try them out!!!
