Future Baby Wish List

Okay so the title isn’t the most clear but I really couldn’t think of a better title! I have been collecting a list of some baby products that I will have to try out if I have another little one! So let’s dive into this list!

  1. Tranquilo Mat This mat is super cool. It has different vibrating settings that calm and soothe babies off to sleep. It is super cool and if you have ever dealt with a baby who is crying for no reason then you could see where this gadget would come in handy.
  2. Baltic Amber Teething Necklace For Babies– This teething necklace is supposed to help with all things that come with teething. Less drooling, pain, and anti flammatory properties. Sounds like a real win win!
  3. 4moms Baby Swing– This is a pricier item but from what I hear it is the best. I got baby K a chair but I wish I would have listened to my best friend and gotten this bad boy to begin with. It will definitely be on my wish list for next round.
  4. 3 Sprouts Play Mat Bag– This guy is really cool, especially if you travel alot. It seems like we are always on the move. This is a play mat that zips up so you can store toys inside. So easy just unzip, play and zip back up to hit the road or keep your house a little neater!
  5. The NEW One Z Nursing Pillow– This pillow is so much better than the boppy in my opinion if you plan on using it for breastfeeding. Now there is nothing with the boppy, I let my little guy lay on it and use it but for breastfeeding the one z pillow has a back support! I really do love it.
  6. SoundBub, Bluetooth Speaker and White Noise Machine | Portable and Rechargeable Baby Sleep Soother – Okay so it is a super long link but this guy is so cute and again since we travel so much having a traveling noise machine is a must. and this guy doubles as a speaker all with no wires needed!!

Alrighty guys I am always on the search on the latest products so if you can think of anything else I got to check out let me know in the comments!!!

Stretch Mark Remover DIY Update

Hey Friends!! I know everyone is anticipating this update. For the past 21 days I have been testing out Stretch mark remover DIY’s. I have started with 2 and if they don’t work I will move on to another 2 to try until I find one that works for me and for y’all!! IMG_1287This is where I started. I know that I don’t have the worst stretch marks in the world but honestly they still bother me. I didn’t get a single stretch mark until a week before I delivered!! How annoying is that?!?!?! Any ways when I ran my hand over my legs I could feel the uneven-ness of my skin and seeing that whiteish and purple/red coloring. I hate it!! I know some say to embrace it but why not be confident about them while trying to remove them? haha So after 21 days I can see a difference!!

It is not perfect but my skin has become more smooth and less uneven. Still not perfect. and the coloring is much better. IMG_1409This is the thigh I have been using the cocoa butter mixture on. Check out my post on DIY stretch mark remover for the recipe. Yes you can see I still have some marks but trust me it is much better!!FullSizeRender(10)This last picture is of my left thigh where I have been using the vitamin E. Vitamin E has been working soooo well! I have been super impressed with both of these remedies. I have to say they really do work. The key is patience and consistency. If you can stick with it you can have super smooth legs or anywhere on your body really!

Lastly I am working on reformulating the cocoa butter mixture to be a little more user friendly. It is a solid lotion that melts into the skin. I think for my next batch I will add vitamin E to it and also use molds. Like I say in the past few posts. I am OBSESSED with this homemade cocoa butter lotion. OMG just sooooo good!

Okay y’all that is all for my half way update! I’m excited to see the results at the end of the 45 days!!

May’s Hits and Misses

I didn’t try out a ton of new products in the month of may so this won’t be a long list. Next month tho will be a doozy! I have placed some online orders and there are some more launches coming in June that I have to get my hands on!

So on to the hits and misses: Let’s start with what was a hit!

First off I have been 100% OBSESSED with this moisturizer for Baby K. Eucerin Baby Eczema Relief Body Creme. Get this NOW! If your baby has dry skin at all this will banish it so quickly! And no baby does not have to have eczema in order to use this. I even use it on my self. I have gone through every baby moisturizer on the market and this stuff is the bomb dot com.

Okay so I know I have mentioned this before but the body moisturizer that I have created for the stretch mark remedy is my newest love. It is a solid moisturizer so I am still working on ways to package it but it literally melts into the skin and smells amazing. I love it so much!

Lastly for my hits is a hair tool/accessory. The Beachwaver Co. The Wrap Up has been my go to for doing my hair lately. My husband got promoted and we had an awards banquet to go to and I needed to look nice for these events other than my usual messy bun and yoga pants. If you know me at all you would know I have super long thick hair and I HATE styling it. This little guy allows me to create the perfect bun with no effort.

Misses: I really only have one that I tried out this month and it is from Burts Bees Baby. I know there are those people out there who love burts bees products but I wasn’t a huge fan. I used the baby wash while on vacation and I found it very liquidy which I didn’t like. I like using a thicker wash on Baby K. I also am not in love with the smell.. Oh well win some and lose some.

What products were you loving or not loving this past month?! Let me know!!

The Perfect Schedule

First off let me say I am sorry I was MIA this past Friday and Monday. My family and I left for the beach on Thursday evening and we came home on Monday. We were wore out and I like to unpack immediately so I didn’t get to posting. Sorry!sleeping-baby(Pic from google images, not my own (: )            So who doesn’t want a baby who sleeps all night?

As the title suggests I have created the perfect schedule for MY family. And this baby schedule may work well for yours as well. If I haven’t said it before then I will say it now.. we live by a schedule in my house. Blame it on the military or just liking to know a routine but a schedule or routine can make a big difference. Being a health professional who specialized in children and pregnancy I wanted to analyze everything, especially with my first baby! Let’s admit it, babies make us crazy.

So on to my routine. Every morning baby K wakes up somewhere between 6:30am-8am. We take our bottle when we wake up even when it is early which it has been lately.

At 8am I make some baby cereal either rice or oatmeal and I mix in a little fruit. I usually try to get baby K to take a little snooze around 10am.

At 11am I give a partial bottle and 2oz of fruit. Back to play time!

At 2pm I give another full bottle and then it is nap time. Baby K usually takes about a 2 hour nap between now and his next meal.

5pm we get another partial bottle and 2oz of veggies. Play time is full swing.

By 7:30pm we are taking our bath and getting ready for bath time. (Of course I have a bath time routine!) Then a full bottle and off to bed to get a full nights sleep and start it all over again the next day!

I don’t use many measurements because your baby may be younger or older. Every baby is different so please use your own reason when it comes to your babies found amounts. Of course follow your pediatrician orders.

This schedule has been implemented even since I was breastfeeding. It has allowed us to get baby K to sleep all night and knows when it is time to eat. I know he is getting full and all the nutrients needed to grow.

Hope y’all are having a great week! Talk to you soon!!

Decorating Baby’s Room

How do you pick a theme and colors and decor?!? For me it was so easy. If I would have had a girl I think it would have been much more difficult. Sorry about the lighting in these pictures.

So when I found out I was having a boy I was so excited!! I was born to be a boy mom. I gave no room for negotiation with my husband on how I was going to decorate baby K’s room. I love all things nautical. I slightly felt bad because my husband is in the Air Force and loves planes… but like I have mentioned before I am obsessed with the ocean. Anyways as you can see I went to lowes and picked out a really pretty blue for the top half of the walls and I left the lower portion the pale grey that we painted the rest of the house. Where those two colors meets we picked up this white trim at lowes as well.

I then picked up wall decor up at hobby lobby and amazon. Hampton Nautical Wood and Brass Ship Wheel and Wooden Rustic King Harbor Squared Oar are a couple of the pieces that I got and love! The wall letters and the whale hanging rack came from hobby lobby. They have such cute pieces. I got all of the bedding from target as well as the changing pad and cover, the diaper genie, and many other items. I mean who doesn’t love target?? Click the link below if you wanna find some of the latest baby things from target. I go there probably twice a week. I have a problem just like I do with amazon!

The furniture I got from babies r us. I love this set we got, very classic and will grow with baby and always look good no matter how we decide to decorate in the future! The rocker/glider chair we also go from babies r us.

How did you decide to decorate? Leave me comments (:

Baby Things I Regret Buying

So I did not purchase all of these things, some of them I received of my registry. Live and Learn right?

So the first thing I regret getting and it literally sits in a drawer and that is these munchkin spoons. Screen Shot 2017-05-12 at 9.43.35 AMI am not saying they are awful but they just don’t work for me! They are flatter than other spoons and make feeding difficult. ESPECIALLY if you are trying to feed cereal. Way to runny and you get no food staying on the spoon.

Next is the munchkin suction bowls. Now let me first say that I use these bowls every single day. but I just don’t like that I can’t microwave and the suction portion doesn’t always work. Screen Shot 2017-05-12 at 9.47.23 AMAgain I love the design and the colors, I just wish they could be microwaved and suction better.

Okay next up is multiple nursing covers. I got one that I love that is a style of an infinity scarf. But I really used it maybe 4 or 5 times. I was never really in a situation where I was going to be flashing the world. And if I was then I would have used a blanket. I had multiple covers and it just wasn’t necessary.Screen Shot 2017-05-12 at 9.57.41 AM Maybe it is for you but just not for me!

So this next product I don’t necessarily regret buying but it doesn’t get much love at my house. I know some people use them every single day but that is just not going to happen in my world and that is the beloved pack n’ play. Screen Shot 2017-05-12 at 10.03.33 AMI have this particular one because it was not ungodly expensive. We did use it when Baby K was first born as his bassinet to sleep in our room. But when he turned about a month or 2 old he went to his crib and this bad boy was packed up and not for play. We literally only use it if we travel, which sadly isn’t very often.

Lastly is our Bumbo. Screen Shot 2017-05-12 at 10.07.10 AM          I loved this thing for a minute and then I got a high chair and I barely use this thing. I don’t really have a reason or use for it?! I want to love it so much but I just don’t now that I have a high chair.

What do you regret buying? I am so curious to know!!

Breastfeeding Ain’t Easy!

Screen Shot 2017-05-10 at 3.45.53 PM

Breastfeeding is hard people! I commend those who make it through a whole year or even longer! I wasn’t able to sadly. I have posted before about milk supply boosters which are great and tasty! I wanted to share my story and journey with breastfeeding. Starting off it was a breeze! I was so lucky because I know so many people have difficulty getting started. Not here it was so easy but then got harder. I feel like if it was reversed maybe I would have lasted longer. I made it breastfeeding just over 3 months. And I am super proud about that!! I have poor circulation and it caused me pain every time a feeding was over L I’m working hard on getting my body more fit eternally, not just looking good on the outside. I am hoping that for baby #2 I will not endure the same pain. Because of this pain I worked my way to being an exclusive pumper. WOOF!

It is so much work to plan times to pump every day for at least 20 minutes and work on keeping up supply and demand from your little one! I truly enjoyed pumping more than breastfeeding only because of the pain but honestly I got lazy on keeping my pump schedule. Mommas who work and pump I bow at your feet!!! You must be wonder woman!! Anyways I was good for a while and was building a small freezer stash but nothing to be super excited about because those got used when I had to have a baby sitter! I just couldn’t get ahead of the game. Around 3.5 or 4 months my supply was pathetic!! I’m talking 3 pumping sessions just to get 2-  5oz bottles! Needless to say I kinda gave up. No swelling or engorgement because my supply was sad. I didn’t give up without a fight tho! Check out my water logged post. I made myself sick trying to get my body to produce more. I even tried to breastfeed again but my boobs said no and that is when I moved on to formula.

Now I am not ashamed of this and those people who shame moms who used formula should get a swift kick in the rear. Sometimes it just isn’t the mommas fault. And the important thing is the baby is getting fed! I do believe in giving breast feeding or pumping a fair chance but if you can’t or it doesn’t work then you shouldn’t feel bad! I did for a bit but came to my senses when I knew I did what I could and my baby was still healthy!!

Leave me comments guys!!
