Hello everyone!! I hope your October is going so well! I can’t believe that I have done so well with posting every day so far! haha So today marks the one month mark to my son’s first birthday and as most moms I am so excited!!! I have been planning this birthday party for a while now but everything is closing in on the big day. I wanted to share some of my ideas and party planning tips.
DECOR: I am doing a Dr. Suess themed birthday. I found some decor at Target that I can use to label food in cute Suess ways. I picked up some fabric at Hobby Lobby to create a “banner” to go around his high chair. At the dollar tree I picked up blue and red table cloths and blue, red, and white poster board. I cut up the poster board to create a banner that will display his month by month baby pictures.
FOOD: We are doing a BBQ and grilling lots of yummy foods. I am going to be doing lots of Dr. Suess themed sides, snack, sweets, and drinks.
- Pink Yink Ink Drink- pink lemonade
- New Blue Goo- blue punch
- 1 fish 2 fish red fish blue fish- colored gold fish in a fish bowl
- poodles with noodles- pasta salad
- green eggs and ham- pretzels with white chocolate and green candies
- Dr. Suess Soup- homemade chex mix/ trail mix
- Truffala Fruits- fruit tray
There are so many ideas that you could do, these are just some that I am doing. I am also making a smash cake and cupcakes. I also ordered a party pack that includes plates, napkins, cups, cutlery, and a table cloth all in my theme.
I consider myself crafty so I am doing my best to make and craft everything that I can instead of buying a lot of the things. I have lots of ideas and I have been working away to make this a great party!
(all photos are courtesy of pinterest, i take no credit but hope to recreate some of these and do them justice. After Baby K’s birthday I will add my own pictures and share how the party went!!)
xoxo Erin
