Testing Out New Elf Products

I recently picked up some new products from elf cosmetics and here are my final thoughts after testing them out. IMG_6228

I have realized that it’s sometimes a safe bet to go darker with elf products. I picked up the primer infused blush and bronzer. I really enjoy them both but I could definitely take a darker shade in both. The formula lasts nicely on the skin and are very smooth. The intense h2o proof eyeliner pen is amazing! It’s actually waterproof and I haven’t had any bleeding. I actually can’t believe it. I also got the pore toner balm. I haven’t noticed if it actually helps yet but I do enjoy how it feels and how my makeup applies on top of it. Lastly I received a 12 piece brush set as a free gift. The brushes are okay and nice for how inexpensive they are. IMG_6229

Over all I would say it was a pretty good haul and I am pleased with the items. ELF is such a great brand for super inexpensive products that still perform!

I’m Back! Here’s How I Would Pack Next Time… Major Change!

Hello Friends! I am finally settled back into normal life. I had an amazing time on my honeymoon in Punta Cana. The weather was perfect and we met amazing people that hopefully we get to stay in touch with. I did however pack too much makeup. I know I can’t believe I am saying that. My skin was, thankfully, was so clear I really didn’t need much. Plus with the heat and humidity you don’t want to feel like you are melting. The first day I wore all my makeup and not a single day after that did I. Here is literally what I wore each day and what I will be packing for the July 4th weekend trip we are taking. IMG_5919

  1. I used my Tarte Shapetape concealer as foundation. I just dotted a tiny bit all over my face and blended it in. It gave a light evenness to my skin which was perfect.IMG_5923
  2. I gave my skin a little color by using a bronzer/blush by Too Faced. IMG_5924
  3. I gave my eyes a quick wash of color by using one of my favorite small palettes by Bad Habit Beauty. Nothing too crazy.IMG_5925
  4. Of course I had to do my brows with my absolute favorite product, ELF Lock on liner and brow cream. It looks so natural and stays on all day.IMG_5922
  5. Next I add some mascara using the Tarte Tarteist mascara.IMG_5926
  6. Throw on some lips. I used different products but I feel in love again while rediscovering the Buxom lip gloss in Mai Tai.IMG_5921
  7. Lastly and most importantly I put on Lashes every single night. It just makes everything look put together and takes any simple look and elevates it. I used the Eden Rose faux mink Lashes in the style Heartbreaker. I also used the House of Lashes Lash glue in the dark color.IMG_5920

So that’s it! 7 super simple steps and just a few products lead to a perfect look that was easy to do but looked glamorous still. What are your favorite go to products?

February Favorites!

Hey Lovely Friends! This month I dove in to some great products and I just have to share. February was a strange month here in the South because it went from being really warm to a little chilly… I do not enjoy this chilly weather. I’m hoping it warms up soon. So I didn’t get out of the house much. Doing your makeup with no place to go is still fun but not clearly as exciting haha!

Even through all this I still managed to find some fabulous products I couldn’t put down and here they are.

  1. Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara. I am Obsessed with this mascara!!!! It is pitch black and leaves my lashes so full and long. It is definitely my go to for those days that I don’t put lashes on. The brush defines my lashes and I really can’t say enough good things. If you haven’t tried it then what are you waiting for???Screen Shot 2018-03-09 at 6.06.59 AMScreen Shot 2018-03-09 at 5.59.27 AM
  2. E.L.F. BB Cream SPF 20. This BB cream adds just the perfect touch of coverage and smooths out any redness. It is very inexpensive and gives spf coverage for the day. The BB cream is super blend-able and creamy. I reach for it everyday!
  3. Bad Habit Beauty “After” eye shadow collection palettes. These palettes are dupes for the Huda Beauty Palettes and OMG they are sooo creamy, pigmented, and build-able. And at only 10$ a pop… I mean come on. Ah-Mazing!
  4. Indian Healing Clay. Only 10$ and this jazz can do so many things! I have been using it for face masks and after only one use my pores were cleaner and smaller and my skin was incredibly silky smooth. It sells out quickly on the Hush app so keep your eyes peeled for it and get your hands on it as soon as you can!Screen Shot 2018-03-09 at 6.28.38 AM
  5. Lastly is not a makeup item but I am obsessed. The Ultimate Classic Jogger from VS Pink. OMG so soft and comfortable. A must have in your wardrobe for lounge days or everyday if you are me!                                             Screen Shot 2018-03-09 at 6.23.57 AM

E.L.F. Newness Review

Alright friends I have tested out many of the new products from E.L.F that I had recently purchased and here are my initial thoughts.

  • Clarifying Charcoal Bubble Mask- I really enjoyed this mask. It did tingle a bit as I let it bubble on my face for about 10 minutes. After rinsing it off my skin was left clean, tight, and smooth. I would definitely recommend it!
  • Lock On Face Primer- I have only used the primer once but.. this primer is very tacky and kind of thick. I like it but it is almost a little difficult to use. When I applied my foundation it went on a little patchy. Not sure this is really a win for me, I’ll have to keep testing out using it.
  • Blending Sponge- This is a little like the beauty blender but when you wet it, it gets huge! I have to give it a few more tries because with that primer it was just a difficult day for foundation. They are super soft tho!
  • Beauty Shield Antioxidant Finishing Powder- I really like this powder. It was super smooth and silky and photographed well. This one is a win!
  • Bronzer- I got the shade light matte. I like this bronzer because you could build it up and it was the perfect cool tone for contouring but also warm enough to warm up the skin a bit.
  • Blush- Shade bright pink. I actually love this color! It looks really nice on the skin and can be built up. Winner!
  • Highlight- Shade Glow. This shade was beautiful but not blinding. It also was much more golden of a highlight than I expected but still very pretty for an everyday glow.
  • Liquid Matte Lipstick- This is the last product I tried out so far and I really loved it. It does require 2 layers to get a super full opaque look. The color I am wearing in the picture is Vampy Violet.

photo1IMG_2384From bottom to top: highlighter, blush, bronzer, liquid matte lipstick in the colors- vampy violet, smokey taupe, coffee(sorry it smeared), lip liner- natural and deep berry.

I have just a few last products to try still but so far things have been pretty great!

April Hits and Misses

Y’all know I love to try new products and so this is Aprils hits and misses for momma and baby!

My first one I have to talk about is for baby! I am 100% obsessed and in love with Baby Dove Tip to Toe Wash, Rich Moisture 13 oz. This baby wash is sooooo great! I have noticed baby K is less dry and smells so great all day long like a baby should!! I normally enjoy using aveeno for baby or johnsons but dove has taken over my baby’s bathroom!!

The next product i am loving for baby is a highchair. I bought it from target, it is the evenflo convertible high chair. You can check it out here! I love it because my little one does not like laying down anymore. He always wants to be sitting up and this highchair isn’t just great for feeding but it breaks down to make a chair and table. I love this plus it was inexpensive!!!

Now on to mom:

As you saw in my previous post I am lovinggggg lots of new elf products so I won’t repeat myself on that.

I have been using the Palmers cocoa butter formula skin therapy oil on my legs and butt for skin tone and stretch marks. I can tell a difference when I use consecutively but not if I skip a day or two. It smells amazing tho. The only other negative I can say is that it instructs to reapply many times throughout the day and even being a stay at home mom I don’t have the time to reapply 3 or 4 times a day. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!!

Cupshe swimsuits! OMG. So I saw these suits on pinterest and as a woman who just had a baby and doesn’t have a personal trainer to whip my butt back in pre-baby shape I have been struggling to find a swim suit that makes me look good and feel good without feeling like a grandma. Cupshe has done just that for me. I was still able to get a bikini that covered my booty but still made me feel great! all at only 23$!!!

Lastly for the hits I recently bought a fitbit to keep myself motivated to stay active. I can do challenges with my friends and being super competitive I am constantly doing laps around the house to beat them!

Misses::::::: So I did purchase the Jeffree Star X Manny collab bundle. I have to say I am not that impressed with the highlighter. It has a strange texture and It seems to me that I have to layer and layer to get a decent glow. Im not trying to blind people but I definitely want it to show up! The lipsticks are great but the colors do oxidize a bit compared to what you see in the bottle. The highlighter is a miss for me tho, sad to say.

I love real techniques but I tried there brush cleaner and I have to admit it didn’t work for me. It was a total miss sadly. Going back to my philosphy to was my brushes!

What did you love and not love this month?? Let me know!

xoxo Erin
