October Boxycharm 🍂

Hello friends! Who is ready for the holidays? I am so excited and love Halloween but I am even more excited for thanksgiving and Christmas!!! We travel for the holidays and it always makes me excited!

Anywho, what did we think about this months boxycharm? This was a great box but I think I’m getting a little bored with it. Is it just me?? This month I received a Kat Von d liquid lip, makeup removing balm, a Pur cosmetics face palette, an it cosmetic mascara and a lace face mask. All the products were great but I feel so uninspired.

It is definitely worth the money. You get great products but let’s be honest, are we not drowning in liquid lipsticks that are in shades we don’t love? And eyeshadow palettes that are lack luster except when we do happen to get a Pur palette? And me personally I hate getting face masks. I never use them with the exception of this one just so it’s not wasted.

Hopefully next month will inspire me but for now I will be waiting and hopeful. I love my boxycharm posts but I’m not sure they are here to stay!

April 2018: Hits and Misses

Can Y’all believe it’s already May!?!?! I can’t and that means in just 25 days I will be on my Honeymoon!! I seriously can not wait and I’m sure that isn’t obvious haha. I have a few posts thought up for honeymoon related things and we are hoping to come back pregnant! Then I will have tons of post ideas ready to go! Okay enough blabbing, let’s jump into what I loved this month.

HITS

  • Herbal Essences Sheer Moisture Cucumber & Green Tea Foam Conditioner. Woof what a mouth full!! Anyways I have been seriously loving this foam conditioner. I thought I would hate it, especially with my long, thick hair. It didn’t leave my hair feeling slick like a normal conditioner but I still was able to get a brush through it and my hair wasn’t ever greasy. I really loved the results and my husband loved the smell.                                                                                                        Screen Shot 2018-05-01 at 12.20.16 PM
  • Bad Habit Eyeshadow Palettes. Honestly they are all amazing. So richly pigmented and blend like a dream. And you can not beat the affordability. I would recommend these to anyone wanting amazing color payoff without a hefty price tag or if you just want a bomb palette. I can’t wait to see what else comes from this brand. • The Balm Mary Lou Manizer highlighter. Sometimes when you gather and collect makeup like I do you tend to forget about old favorites. I rediscovered this beauty and even put it in a pile to be packed for my honeymoon.Screen Shot 2018-05-01 at 12.17.18 PM
  • Lastly I have be Obsessed with the BH Cosmetics Festival palette. I know I’ve talked about this before but the colors and the color payoff are so amazing. Such a great palette!                                                                                                    IMG_4852

MISSES

  • Just Nutritive Self Tanner. Let me start off saying this is not a total miss. I actually love how easy this is to use and the color that develops. But because it goes on clear you can not see what areas you have missed which leaves it streaky. Also I waited hours after applying to allow dry time and after putting my watch back on even a day later, I have a white strap around my wrist from the watch.
  • Spiral Twisters.. I just don’t understand how these work for girls with straight hair. Maybe because my hair is very thick and heavy they don’t work? My best friend loves them but I find that they just stretch out and my hair slips out of the pony tail very quickly.

That’s it for today! Leave me comments about what you are loving!

February Favorites!

Hey Lovely Friends! This month I dove in to some great products and I just have to share. February was a strange month here in the South because it went from being really warm to a little chilly… I do not enjoy this chilly weather. I’m hoping it warms up soon. So I didn’t get out of the house much. Doing your makeup with no place to go is still fun but not clearly as exciting haha!

Even through all this I still managed to find some fabulous products I couldn’t put down and here they are.

  1. Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara. I am Obsessed with this mascara!!!! It is pitch black and leaves my lashes so full and long. It is definitely my go to for those days that I don’t put lashes on. The brush defines my lashes and I really can’t say enough good things. If you haven’t tried it then what are you waiting for???Screen Shot 2018-03-09 at 6.06.59 AMScreen Shot 2018-03-09 at 5.59.27 AM
  2. E.L.F. BB Cream SPF 20. This BB cream adds just the perfect touch of coverage and smooths out any redness. It is very inexpensive and gives spf coverage for the day. The BB cream is super blend-able and creamy. I reach for it everyday!
  3. Bad Habit Beauty “After” eye shadow collection palettes. These palettes are dupes for the Huda Beauty Palettes and OMG they are sooo creamy, pigmented, and build-able. And at only 10$ a pop… I mean come on. Ah-Mazing!
  4. Indian Healing Clay. Only 10$ and this jazz can do so many things! I have been using it for face masks and after only one use my pores were cleaner and smaller and my skin was incredibly silky smooth. It sells out quickly on the Hush app so keep your eyes peeled for it and get your hands on it as soon as you can!Screen Shot 2018-03-09 at 6.28.38 AM
  5. Lastly is not a makeup item but I am obsessed. The Ultimate Classic Jogger from VS Pink. OMG so soft and comfortable. A must have in your wardrobe for lounge days or everyday if you are me!                                             Screen Shot 2018-03-09 at 6.23.57 AM

What were you loving last month??

Updated Favorite Baby Products

I haven’t written one of my baby lists in a while and as my baby is turning one in a few days, I began to look around and make a mental list of all my #1 baby products that I would go to directly for my next baby. If there will be one… So let me dive right in!

  1. Dr. Brown’s Options Narrow Feeding Set, clear– These bottles are my holy grail!! The straw in them helps to reduce air bubbles and makes the whole feeding process smoother. It is a little more to clean but so worth it.
  2. Dr. Brown’s One Piece Silicone Pacifier, 0m+, Blue, 3 Pack– If you are going to use pacifiers there are so many ones out there to choose from and every baby is different but these work like a dream for me. It is shaped just like the bottle nipple so it just works so well. You can easily go from bottle to paci with no crying in between.
  3. Gerber Good Start Gentle Non-GMO Powder Infant Formula, Stage 1, 23.2 Ounce (Pack of 6)– If you are choosing to use formula or if you aren’t able to breastfeed for as long as you would like, as in my case, you will need to pick out a formula. I did a ton of research and compared ingredients and prices amongst many different brands and decided to use gerber myself. It worked so well for my son but of course every baby is different.
  4. Baby Dove Tip to Toes– This is the BEST baby wash! Super gentle and smells so good. I found that some washes could be a little drying but this one is amazing! I would definitely recommend to everyone!
  5. Eucerin Baby Eczema Relief Body Creme 5.0 Ounce – If your baby ever gets dry patches, look no further. They don’t have to have eczema to use this body creme. It really is amazing and you will notice a difference so quickly!
  6. Desitin Baby Diaper Rash Maximum Strength Original Paste, 4 Oz Tube– Eventually every baby needs a little diaper rash cream and desitin is my personal go to. It can be used for more than just red bums, I’ve used it in little mans neck where it would get a little raw from drool. It can be a full time job just trying to keep babies dry.
  7. HUGGIES Little Snugglers Baby Diapers, Size 1, 216 Count– I mean… You have to diaper your baby.. I like huggies and after trying pampers and honest brand, I personally just can’t use any other brand but huggies. They are my favorite!
  8. Fisher-Price Deluxe Bouncer, Soothing Savanna– Having a little chair like this one while little man was small was a life saver. I would definitely recommend investing in a bouncer chair.
  9. Lansinoh Lanolin for Breastfeeding Mothers, 1.41 Ounce (Pack of 2)– Lastly I had to add this for my breastfeeding mamas. This stuff beats anything out there for saving your nips and I even use it for saving chapped lips!!! It seriously can’t be beat!!

That is all my tops at the moment. I know there are lots more but things like cribs and rockers are going to be up to your personal style. I am sure I will do more of these. Please let me know in the comments if you like these types of lists!

Apple Dump Cake… YUMM

In my house we are always craving a little something sweet.. not great for our waistlines so we try to only indulge every once in a while. A classic for fall is apple pie but if you want to take the super easy, super tasty route try an apple dump cake! I did get this recipe from Never Ending Journeys so all credit goes to her!

Here is the recipe: Screen Shot 2017-09-28 at 10.02.52 AMGuys it is sooo good and so quick and easy!! Great for if you need something easy for a gathering or pot luck!

E.L.F. Newness Review

Alright friends I have tested out many of the new products from E.L.F that I had recently purchased and here are my initial thoughts.

  • Clarifying Charcoal Bubble Mask- I really enjoyed this mask. It did tingle a bit as I let it bubble on my face for about 10 minutes. After rinsing it off my skin was left clean, tight, and smooth. I would definitely recommend it!
  • Lock On Face Primer- I have only used the primer once but.. this primer is very tacky and kind of thick. I like it but it is almost a little difficult to use. When I applied my foundation it went on a little patchy. Not sure this is really a win for me, I’ll have to keep testing out using it.
  • Blending Sponge- This is a little like the beauty blender but when you wet it, it gets huge! I have to give it a few more tries because with that primer it was just a difficult day for foundation. They are super soft tho!
  • Beauty Shield Antioxidant Finishing Powder- I really like this powder. It was super smooth and silky and photographed well. This one is a win!
  • Bronzer- I got the shade light matte. I like this bronzer because you could build it up and it was the perfect cool tone for contouring but also warm enough to warm up the skin a bit.
  • Blush- Shade bright pink. I actually love this color! It looks really nice on the skin and can be built up. Winner!
  • Highlight- Shade Glow. This shade was beautiful but not blinding. It also was much more golden of a highlight than I expected but still very pretty for an everyday glow.
  • Liquid Matte Lipstick- This is the last product I tried out so far and I really loved it. It does require 2 layers to get a super full opaque look. The color I am wearing in the picture is Vampy Violet.

photo1IMG_2384From bottom to top: highlighter, blush, bronzer, liquid matte lipstick in the colors- vampy violet, smokey taupe, coffee(sorry it smeared), lip liner- natural and deep berry.

I have just a few last products to try still but so far things have been pretty great!

Movies You Must Watch By Halloween

Hello Friends! If you know me at all you know I am in full Halloween swing. I have been working on lots of looks for the 31 days of halloween and in prep for that I have been trying to watch as many scary, thriller, horror films as possible! Here is my list of must see movies.

  1. Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 8.53.22 AM Classic slasher movie. Watch the original before the Rob Zombie remake. Both are good!
  2. Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 8.56.56 AM Nightmare on Elm Street is a must see classic. What is freakier than this creep tying you up and literally cutting you up??
  3. Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 8.58.55 AM Okay so I haven’t seen the first Scream yet… I know but is definitely on the list and I have to watch it before Halloween.. So should you!!
  4. Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 9.01.13 AM The Shinning is not super scary but is a thriller. If you haven’t seen it you definitely need to watch Jack Nicholson lose his mind!
  5. Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 9.06.38 AM The Exorcist is definitely a favorite of mine. Exorcism movies of all kinds actually. They are freaking and so captivating.

Okay I will be adding more to the list the closer we get to Halloween! What are your must watch halloween movies?? Let me know in the comments so I can see more. Me and my husband love scary movies!!
