I didn’t try out a ton of new products in the month of may so this won’t be a long list. Next month tho will be a doozy! I have placed some online orders and there are some more launches coming in June that I have to get my hands on!
So on to the hits and misses: Let’s start with what was a hit!
First off I have been 100% OBSESSED with this moisturizer for Baby K. Eucerin Baby Eczema Relief Body Creme. Get this NOW! If your baby has dry skin at all this will banish it so quickly! And no baby does not have to have eczema in order to use this. I even use it on my self. I have gone through every baby moisturizer on the market and this stuff is the bomb dot com.
Okay so I know I have mentioned this before but the body moisturizer that I have created for the stretch mark remedy is my newest love. It is a solid moisturizer so I am still working on ways to package it but it literally melts into the skin and smells amazing. I love it so much!
Lastly for my hits is a hair tool/accessory. The Beachwaver Co. The Wrap Up has been my go to for doing my hair lately. My husband got promoted and we had an awards banquet to go to and I needed to look nice for these events other than my usual messy bun and yoga pants. If you know me at all you would know I have super long thick hair and I HATE styling it. This little guy allows me to create the perfect bun with no effort.
Misses: I really only have one that I tried out this month and it is from Burts Bees Baby. I know there are those people out there who love burts bees products but I wasn’t a huge fan. I used the baby wash while on vacation and I found it very liquidy which I didn’t like. I like using a thicker wash on Baby K. I also am not in love with the smell.. Oh well win some and lose some.
What products were you loving or not loving this past month?! Let me know!!
Hey lovelies! I’m going to quickly give you the products that make up my 5 minute makeup. I do this look when I have to run to the store, doctor appointments, etc.
So here are the products! :
Eyes I quickly throw on some primer, my favorite is smashbox 24 hour primer and then I add a taupe eyeshadow by Milani all over the lid and add a CK eyeshadow in a shimmery peachy color.. apparently it isn’t being made anymore which breaks my heart. I will have to find a dupe!
Next I add my lancome visionnaire to help moisturize and prime. If you are on the dry side you will want to add a moisturizer underneath. On top of this I next add my foundation and powder
As I have said many many times I am obsessed with e.l.f. products.
After my face I add some blush and mascara. Then I am ready to go!! This is the Milani blush which I am OBSESSED with!!
So that is it! It is quick and natural and so easy breezy!! What are you favorite go to products for a quick and easy look??
So I did not purchase all of these things, some of them I received of my registry. Live and Learn right?
So the first thing I regret getting and it literally sits in a drawer and that is these munchkin spoons. I am not saying they are awful but they just don’t work for me! They are flatter than other spoons and make feeding difficult. ESPECIALLY if you are trying to feed cereal. Way to runny and you get no food staying on the spoon.
Next is the munchkin suction bowls. Now let me first say that I use these bowls every single day. but I just don’t like that I can’t microwave and the suction portion doesn’t always work. Again I love the design and the colors, I just wish they could be microwaved and suction better.
Okay next up is multiple nursing covers. I got one that I love that is a style of an infinity scarf. But I really used it maybe 4 or 5 times. I was never really in a situation where I was going to be flashing the world. And if I was then I would have used a blanket. I had multiple covers and it just wasn’t necessary. Maybe it is for you but just not for me!
So this next product I don’t necessarily regret buying but it doesn’t get much love at my house. I know some people use them every single day but that is just not going to happen in my world and that is the beloved pack n’ play. I have this particular one because it was not ungodly expensive. We did use it when Baby K was first born as his bassinet to sleep in our room. But when he turned about a month or 2 old he went to his crib and this bad boy was packed up and not for play. We literally only use it if we travel, which sadly isn’t very often.
Lastly is our Bumbo. I loved this thing for a minute and then I got a high chair and I barely use this thing. I don’t really have a reason or use for it?! I want to love it so much but I just don’t now that I have a high chair.
What do you regret buying? I am so curious to know!!
As you guys know or if you are new to my site, I am on a fitness journey. I am not 100% concerned with losing weight. I just want to feel good and look good. I recently purchased a Fitbit and I am obsessed!!!! Add me if you have one!
Fitbit Charge 2 Heart Rate + Fitness Wristband, Black, Small This is the one I have! Check him out. So if you are not familiar with fitbit, this particular one counts your steps, tracks your sleep, your activity, your heart rate and so on. With the fitbit app you can also track your food and water intake. You can also do challenges against people! Being as competitive as I am I find any excuse to step up and get ahead of the people in my weekly challenges! I didn’t think I would have as much fun with it as I do.
I bought it because I really wanted an Apple Watch but didn’t want to spend that much money on a watch! I tried to find one on sale on poshmark but with no luck. So I decided on the fitbit! I love that it reminds me to move each hour and it really does keep me more aware of my activity and my heart rate. I can honestly say that I am up and moving and feeling better and I have even lost a pound!!
For Fitbit Charge 2 Bands 10PCS So I also ordered this beauty! It is a pack of 10 replacement bands in really fun colors so I can mix it up and not always be wearing boring black! I love this!
I hope you enjoyed guys! Come join me on my fitness (body after baby) journey!! Don’t forget to add me on fitbit and challenge me!
ps I am not sponsored by fitbit, just sharing my latest obsession!
Breastfeeding is hard people! I commend those who make it through a whole year or even longer! I wasn’t able to sadly. I have posted before about milk supply boosters which are great and tasty! I wanted to share my story and journey with breastfeeding. Starting off it was a breeze! I was so lucky because I know so many people have difficulty getting started. Not here it was so easy but then got harder. I feel like if it was reversed maybe I would have lasted longer. I made it breastfeeding just over 3 months. And I am super proud about that!! I have poor circulation and it caused me pain every time a feeding was over L I’m working hard on getting my body more fit eternally, not just looking good on the outside. I am hoping that for baby #2 I will not endure the same pain. Because of this pain I worked my way to being an exclusive pumper. WOOF!
It is so much work to plan times to pump every day for at least 20 minutes and work on keeping up supply and demand from your little one! I truly enjoyed pumping more than breastfeeding only because of the pain but honestly I got lazy on keeping my pump schedule. Mommas who work and pump I bow at your feet!!! You must be wonder woman!! Anyways I was good for a while and was building a small freezer stash but nothing to be super excited about because those got used when I had to have a baby sitter! I just couldn’t get ahead of the game. Around 3.5 or 4 months my supply was pathetic!! I’m talking 3 pumping sessions just to get 2- 5oz bottles! Needless to say I kinda gave up. No swelling or engorgement because my supply was sad. I didn’t give up without a fight tho! Check out my water logged post. I made myself sick trying to get my body to produce more. I even tried to breastfeed again but my boobs said no and that is when I moved on to formula.
Now I am not ashamed of this and those people who shame moms who used formula should get a swift kick in the rear. Sometimes it just isn’t the mommas fault. And the important thing is the baby is getting fed! I do believe in giving breast feeding or pumping a fair chance but if you can’t or it doesn’t work then you shouldn’t feel bad! I did for a bit but came to my senses when I knew I did what I could and my baby was still healthy!!
Leave me comments guys!!
Alright guys so I have a little bit of a different story for y’all today. I actually made myself sick with water. You heard me right, water. I have always craved water, and no I am not dehydrated, I just really love the taste of plain water. I know it’s weird but oh well. So after I had my son I was trying to drink lots and lots of water so that I could keep my milk supply up. I knew from reading and common sense that water = milk. I ate all the foods that were supposed to help and I drank tons of water. So much water that I began to get really bad headaches and my joints were hurting terribly bad.
I actually gave myself water poisoning!!!! How does one do that?? I was literally drinking over 200 ounces of water a day! That is not an exaggeration. And the regular standard is 8 cups or about half of your body weight in ounces. I was consuming way over what I was supposed to be and I paid for it. It was the worst feeling, especially the headaches which I never get!
Needless to say I got rid of my giant water jug I was drinking from and switched to a smaller bottle. I also track my water consumption on my fitbit app. I know it sounds crazy for someone to go through the trouble of tracking water but I want to drink enough but never want to go overboard again!!
