It’s BLOGTOBER!!

Screen Shot 2017-09-28 at 9.41.34 AMI really want to put my best effort in to doing Blogtober for the first time. With the help of some fabulous twitter friends I have some great Ideas for what to right about! So if you are new to blogtober, like me, let me introduce you. I will be writing some of my normal posts like monthly goals and a few reviews but I will also post some fall outfits, makeup looks, decor, recipes, and of course Halloween looks!

Writing a post everyday in October is going to take quite a bit of work but I think it will be so fun. Who doesn’t love fall?? It seems like people go crazy when it finally hits autumn. Even though it is still 90 degrees here where I live I want to be full on in the spirit of fall! I hope you enjoy and hopefully this will be a great success!

Talk super soon friends!

Let me know what fun fall things you’ll be doing or I should write about!

September Goals

This months goals I want to keep similar to August.

  • Keep working on myself. Not let things bother me and not get upset over things I “think” but haven’t or aren’t going to happen.
  • Stay consistent and keep growing my blog/social medias. I have been doing so good but every once in a while I get distracted and I need to continue working really hard.
  • Focus on being healthy and making healthy choices and being active. Not solely focused on losing weight.
  • Be more organized. I keep everyone one else in my house organized and I stay organized with homework but my room and my spaces in the house need revamped

I think this is actually kind of a lot to stay up on for this month but I know I can do it!!

What are your goals this month?

Motivation Monday

For this weeks motivation I want to just remind everyone to stay focused on your goals and work really hard to reach them. I have been trying to put more and more effort into my blog and social medias to grow myself and gain more opportunities. I have had the pleasure of being reached out to by different companies to review their products. These may not be for pay but I truly enjoy being reached out to and asked for an honest opinion. I believe this is just the start.                                               Screen Shot 2017-08-14 at 12.35.31 PM

This month I have been goal focused and I remind myself of that everyday. I keep notes and write things down and work on communicating my feelings and thoughts. This helps me keep a clear mental space and stay focused on the important things in life. My family, my friends, and my work.

To be able to do what you love everyday for a living takes a lot of hard work, determination, and courage but it is in us all and is completely possible if you don’t give up! That is my motivation to everyone, Don’t Give Up!

Til next time friends,

xoxo Erin

Motivation Monday

As most of you know, last Saturday I had a traumatic experience that left me super upset and ashamed of the way I looked. So last Monday I started a diet and began to revamp my exercise routine. I have to say so far it is going really well. I’ve studied nutrition all through school and knew what I needed to do but making a change when I’ve never had to workout or eat super healthy before was going to be a challenge. Screen Shot 2017-07-23 at 1.16.05 PM

I am so proud of myself so far. I have committed to making smoothies for breakfast and lunch. I also eat boiled eggs and nuts for snacks if I get hungry in between meals. I drink a gallon of water a day, or as close as I can get to. For dinner I make some sort of lean protein with a salad. I have had no alcohol, pop, or juice. I have done very well by not cheating as well. This weekend I relaxed a bit because we ate out and went to friends for dinner. I obviously did not restrict them to cooking what I could eat.

I feel as though I can begin to see slight changes. I feel my clothes beginning to loosen up just a bit. I am so excited and no way will I be giving up on this. I definitely want a rocking bod for my honeymoon.

Stay motivated loves! Staying committed is the best way to reach your goals. Keep things interesting and mix up foods and workouts so that you don’t get bored!

Liquid Diet: Yes or No?

Okay So I am not doing a 100% completely liquid diet but as I talked about in my previous post I just find it very difficult to eat fruits and veggies and meat. I primarily eat carbs- eekkk I know! So for this diet I am cutting out majority of carbs and bumping up my fruit, veggie, and protein intake. I am also revamping my workouts. Another part to mention about my new diet is to drink 128oz of water a day to help detox the liver and body. Be careful! You know if you have been around that I have actually given myself water poisoning so don’t go toooo crazy with the water! Aim for at least 80oz to start, especially if you are not a water person. It can be difficult to drink enough!FullSizeRender(11) So far the diet is going very well!! I wanted to share a smoothie that is very healthy! Only 153 calories per serving. The recipe makes two. Of course depending on your protein and liquid choices, the calories may change. I use a 100% whey protein in vanilla and it is sweetened with stevia instead of sugar from GNC (their brand).

Carrot Cake Smoothie, 2 servings:

  • 1/2 C. carrot juice
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 3/4 C. almond milk ( I use vanilla and unsweetened)
  • 1 scoop of protein powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 5 ice cubes

So Tasty!!

So far my 70% liquid diet is a total YES! it is going so well. If I get hungry in between smoothies I eat a boiled egg or a salad with very light dressing. As I keep tasting and testing smoothie recipes I will share them! I also want to leave y’all with some easy quick exercises that I got from pinterest:IMG_1766Till Next time

Body Shaming, Diets, and Acceptance

Hello Lovelies! If you follow me on twitter (You should! click on the link to the left (: ) then you saw my brief post where I had a really traumatizing experience of trying on some clothes that really tore me apart. So this will be a little bit of a different post.

So Saturday my husband, son and I set off to look for some running shoes and a baby gate. Pretty typical errands type of thing. Well we happened upon a department store near the end of our journey that was completely on sale from going out of business. They had tons of beautiful dresses and so we chose some for me to try on. I despise trying on clothes especially now with this body after baby that I am just not used to. I am in no way huge or fat and I don’t ever expect to be rail thin but it was a depressing wake up call. I couldn’t even get most of the dresses on and one of them that I did get on, I didn’t think would come off. I left the store holding back tears. I know I have been on a journey working out to try and get my body back to pre baby but I was seriously upset. We went straight home, I made a grocery list, I threw out all the fattening foods, and went to the grocery and bought kale. KALE PEOPLE! I bought all healthy foods.

I guess I sort of needed that saturday experience but it really made me sad. I can’t stand to look at my body. And I honestly don’t care about people saying love your body because of it giving me my baby. Of course I love my baby and that I could create such a miracle but I hate the after math. I don’t think anything is wrong with that. I think what is important is that you accept where you came from, where you are, and where you want to be.

I made a baby. I look like I had a baby. And now I am making a change to get my body back and love the way I look.

Okay so moving on to making a change! First off let me say I am 2 months away from having my Masters in Public Health. I have studied health and nutrition and exercise and the human body for many years. I know what I need to do. I just have to stay motivated and committed to this new lifestyle.

I went to GNC and picked up a recommended 100% whey protein from a wonderfully helpful woman working. I also picked up an Organic Superfood blend with protein powder while at the grocery. I rarely eat vegetables so I got this powder because it gives me all the nutrients from eating fruits and veggies!IMG_1768

I have decided to do a high protein, low carb diet. I am making smoothies for breakfast and lunch. Then a lean protein with veggies for dinner. My husband is not fighting me on this because we both are wanting to lose some weight. I will be updating you guys every week with my progress, recipes, motivation, and fitness tips.

I get many of my smoothie recipes from Pinterest so give me a follow over there to see what recipes and workouts I am pinning at makemommyup !!

I started today. My goal by April 2018 (Honeymoon time!!) is to lose 40lbs. This is roughly 5lbs a month which is absolutely doable. I am not 100% worried about a number on the scale. For myself I want to feel and look good and be healthy. And of course I want my clothes to fit again!

OMG this is my longest post ever. You deserve an award for making it to the end!! I hope I can help motivate y’all and we can all make some changes to be more healthy together!

Join the fitness journey with me loves! Leave me comments here or on twitter. Leave your favorite healthy recipes or snacks!!

Makeup Bag Starter Kit

It seems like every woman has a different idea of what to to put in their makeup bag. As a makeup artist I have been horrified and pleasantly surprised. Some ladies carry nothing or the bare minimum and others carry their whole collection. Me personally I don’t tend to carry much in my purse or on the go but… My makeup tends to stay put. That being said I always have a makeup bag in my vanity with my favorites ready to go! So here are my picks for the perfect makeup bag/collection.

  1. This Bag Contains My Face Makeup Bag– You have to start with a good bag right? This one is super cute and not overly expensive. I love it!
  2. Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream SPF 30 – I love this base! It is not quite as heavy as a regular foundation but still gives decent coverage and great skincare benefits! You get your sunscreen and it has dark spot correction in it. I don’t personally have dark spots but preventing them is always good too!
  3. Clinique Stay Matte Powder– This powder is the bomb. It is the perfect touch up powder and always looks good. This is one of those products I do carry everywhere.
  4. Brushes– A staple for everyone is some good brushes. Morphe has amazing brushes at a great, affordable price.
  5. L’Oreal Paris Cosmetics Voluminous Feline Mascara– A good mascara is a must and this is my current go to. I love this mascara and I found it so cheap on amazon!
  6. MAC Fluidline eyeliner– I personally don’t feel complete without some eyeliner. This has been my favorite for years. If a gel liner isn’t for you then use what works or tell me in the comments and I will tell you all my other favorite eyeliners!
  7. Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25, Natural Mint & Shea Butter, 0.25 oz.– This lip balm is amazing!!! I have been using it for years and it just never fails me especially for the price.
  8. Bronzer and Blush– Add some warmth, freshness, and dimension to the face. A little of either or both can really just brighten up a look. screen-shot-2017-03-06-at-9-41-51-am

I think you can stop here for a quick fresh look or you can of course go all out. If you are just starting out these products can get you going. Let me know in the comments what your favorite products are and what you keep in your makeup bag! I am obsessed with makeup so I am always looking for new products to try and share with you!
