I’m Back! Here’s How I Would Pack Next Time… Major Change!

Hello Friends! I am finally settled back into normal life. I had an amazing time on my honeymoon in Punta Cana. The weather was perfect and we met amazing people that hopefully we get to stay in touch with. I did however pack too much makeup. I know I can’t believe I am saying that. My skin was, thankfully, was so clear I really didn’t need much. Plus with the heat and humidity you don’t want to feel like you are melting. The first day I wore all my makeup and not a single day after that did I. Here is literally what I wore each day and what I will be packing for the July 4th weekend trip we are taking. IMG_5919

  1. I used my Tarte Shapetape concealer as foundation. I just dotted a tiny bit all over my face and blended it in. It gave a light evenness to my skin which was perfect.IMG_5923
  2. I gave my skin a little color by using a bronzer/blush by Too Faced. IMG_5924
  3. I gave my eyes a quick wash of color by using one of my favorite small palettes by Bad Habit Beauty. Nothing too crazy.IMG_5925
  4. Of course I had to do my brows with my absolute favorite product, ELF Lock on liner and brow cream. It looks so natural and stays on all day.IMG_5922
  5. Next I add some mascara using the Tarte Tarteist mascara.IMG_5926
  6. Throw on some lips. I used different products but I feel in love again while rediscovering the Buxom lip gloss in Mai Tai.IMG_5921
  7. Lastly and most importantly I put on Lashes every single night. It just makes everything look put together and takes any simple look and elevates it. I used the Eden Rose faux mink Lashes in the style Heartbreaker. I also used the House of Lashes Lash glue in the dark color.IMG_5920

So that’s it! 7 super simple steps and just a few products lead to a perfect look that was easy to do but looked glamorous still. What are your favorite go to products?

December Boxy Charm

I know my post for December’s boxy charm is up super late but since I was out of town I received my box late. I have to be honest I was incredibly underwhelmed by this box. I really wasn’t even excited to try it out, which is super sad because normally I am beyond pumped about the box. So let’s jump in.IMG_3799

In the box I received a blush kit by Real Her that is retailed at $32. All 3 blushes were shimmery so I felt that this item may be better for spring or summer but I don’t think I will reach for it much at all. The middle shade is really pretty but the other two are not my style…IMG_3802

Next up I got a Pro Concealer Palette by Bellapierre, retailing for $30. Now this looks like a nice palette with really big pans for anyone who uses color correcting concealers. I personally don’t… So again this was a bust for me but that is totally personal. My mom received a bronzer in her boxy charm box, which I am totally jealous of!

Next is a My Lips Are Sealed Lightweight Liquid Lipstick by Pretty Vulgar, retails for $24. This product was a love hate for me because I was totally stoked about receiving something by Pretty Vulgar and I can’t wait to try more of their products but I just do not like metallic liquid lipsticks. I don’t think they look good on me and so this will just not be used unfortunately. I will probably put it in a give away, ( I did not even open this because I tried my moms)

I believe all boxy charmers received the Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara by Tarte retailing for $23. This mascara is really great and I am happy to have at least one product that will be used in my box this month! This guy really added lots of volume but won’t be replacing my l’oreal mascara or fake lashes.

Lastly I got a Deluxe Blush Brush from Crown Brush, retails for $12. The brush has really soft, synthetic bristles which is nice when you want to use cream or powder products. It is pretty dense so you want to be very light handed so that you don’t get too much product.

Did you receive the december boxy charm? What did you think? If you don’t receive boxy charm you should. Normally I love my entire box and at only 21$ a month it is an incredible deal!!

October BoxyCharm Spellbound

I am always so excited about receiving my boxycharm each month! There really is no better deal out there I don’t think! I mean 21$ for 4-5 FULL SIZE products! I have said this before and I’ll say it again… I just don’t like miniature products. They are cute, sure but I don’t like them. haha. Any who let us jump into this box! I literally just got this out of the mail and jumped on here to write! IMG_2521The items that I received this month were:

  1. Dr. Brandt poredermabrasion MSRP: $58. professional-grade micro- crystal solution, that instantly deep-cleans and refines pores.
  2. Becca shimmering skin perfector pressed highlighter in shade Prosecco pop MSRP: $38. highlighter powder that will light up the features you love with a high shine finish.
  3. Tarte tarteist quick dry matte lip paint in shade bestie. MSRP: $20. full coverage, transfer proof liquid lipstick with a quick dry matte finish.
  4. Dirty Little Secrets eyeshadow chubby MSRP: $14. creamy consistency allows you to use it alone as an eyeshadow or as a base.
  5. Jonteblu lip liner pencil MSRP: $5. creamy, high pigmented formula glides on effortlessly.

I have not tried out these products yet, as I said before I literally just opened the box. I am excited to try them all out!

Tarte Holiday Collection

So Tarte has brought out lots of new goodies in really beautiful packaging. There are so many so I am only going to share a few but you can see them all on tartecosmetics.com.

These pieces are some of my favorites. Who doesn’t love a good brush set?? Tarte makes my favorite gel liner, it seriously doesn’t budge. The blush palette is so beautiful and has warm and cool tones along with two highlighters.

I really love the packaging of this collection and will definitely have to pick up a few items!!

August Favorites!

I am sorry this is going up so late! It was a long weekend spent away with the family and friends. I thought about working on posts and pictures and homework and I decided that I deserved a little break, so I took one!Screen Shot 2017-09-05 at 9.17.39 AM

Let’s jump into these favs I had for the month!!

  1. Models Own Foundation- Go check out my review on this foundation. It is great and sometimes I even mix in some moisturizer to make it a little thinner for quick trips to get groceries when I don’t want a full face.
  2. Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara- I rediscovered my love for this mascara. It is amazing and the brush is super full and thick. I love it!
  3. Tarte- Rainforest of the sea vol. 2- I normally don’t go crazy over tarte but this palette is perfect for travel. It creates a perfect neutral look and is such cute packaging.
  4. Victoria Secret Pink Backpack- These backpacks are not only so freaking adorable but are perfect for everything. I don’t go to a physical school, I go online, but I have my backpack for keeping everything all in one place. Especially for blogging! I have lots of notebooks and pens and stickynotes so I never forget a thing!!

Okay so I didn’t have a ton this month. We did a lot of traveling, guests over, and events which didn’t leave tons of time for shopping and testing. But I’ll be back at it. There are so many great products coming out. Plus the closer we get to the holidays, it’ll only get better and better!

Till next time loves!

August BoxyCharm Thoughts

I was so excited to receive my first BoxyCharm box!! I debated on whether or not to get it for quite some time and I am so glad I gave in and signed up! It is 21$ a month but if you sign up for more months you can get a bit of a discount. IMG_2012This months box them was Beach Please and included: a Moda Pro, 3 piece brush set from Royal and Langnickle which retails for 26$, A waterproof gel eyeliner by bellapierre which retails for 15$, Pro eyelashes by PUR cosmetics which retails for 14$, #GRLPWR liquid lipstick by the beauty crop retailing for 14.95$ and lastly the Rainforest of the sea: volume 2 by Tarte retailing for 36$.

It truly was a great box and a great deal and I’m so excited it is coming every month!! IMG_2025Here is a look I created using the box. I really like all the products, though I am not super in love with the color of the lip but it looks good in pictures haha.

I can’t wait till next month for a new boxy!

June Hits and Misses

I am SO sorry that this did not get posted earlier! The family and I made a spontaneous trip to Florida for the 4th of July weekend. We stayed with some friends and I didn’t have much time to edit or write! The weekend was supposed to storm and so I brought my computer and it ended up being beautiful and sunny the whole weekend. Check out my youtube video to see the complete list of hits and misses! Click Here!

So let’s jump right in to these Hits and Misses!

Screen Shot 2017-07-05 at 7.14.13 AMFirst up is the beauty shield collection from ELF Cosmetics! I absolutely love this line. I have been using it everyday since I received it and OMG my skin looks amazing! and I love the way it smells. Screen Shot 2017-06-29 at 3.36.22 PM Next up is the Jaclyn Hill X Morphe palette. I won’t repeat myself from my last post but this palette is amazing so definitely try to get your hands on it!

Screen Shot 2017-07-05 at 7.34.50 AMI really enjoyed this exfoliator! I have been wanting to try a stick exfoliator and so I purchased this one and really liked it. I haven’t decided it I would repurchase it but it is definitely a hit for this month!!Screen Shot 2017-07-05 at 7.35.41 AM Last one for my hits is the Boscia Jelly Ball Cleanser. OMG it is soo cool and weird and I just love it!

On to the Misses…

Screen Shot 2017-07-05 at 7.16.41 AMSo first up on the misses is this makeup drop silicone blender. First off it does not blend at all. Maybe I am not using it correctly but after trying it I was very disappointed. It does save product by not absorbing it I suppose but it is definitely not worth the 20$

Screen Shot 2017-07-05 at 7.17.05 AMThis mascara, Manna Kadar Beauty, was nothing special to me. I received it in my beautycon box and I was not impressed. The brush is way too big and you can not get your bottom lashes with it unless you are prepared to make a mess. And for 29$ I would definitely not purchase this mascara!!

Screen Shot 2017-07-05 at 7.17.19 AMAnother item I was not overly impressed with was this eyeliner by Jonteblu. It is a beautiful color but just didn’t glide on my eyes as easily as I would have loved it too. But it was only 5$ so not a terrible price by any means!!

Alright guys that is it for this time. I have lots of ideas coming up so definitely stay tuned and leave me comments about what you were loving or not loving last month!!!!

xoxo Erin
